Southern Adirondack Firearms Education and Training, Inc (SAFE-T, Inc.) has been the premier provider of pistol safety instruction for NYS pistol license applicants in Warren County, New York since 1975. That's 44 years of training over 8,000 applicants... and counting! We must be doing something right...
Quite simply, "Safety through education"
Warren County judges have historically required that applicants complete a pistol safety course before they will issue a New York State pistol license. Our SAFE-T, Inc. course, developed collaboratively with County Judge John Dier in 1975, then continued with Judge G. Thomas Moynihan, and currently approved and accepted by County Judge John S. Hall, satisfies that training requirement. Our course is also accepted for those neighbors applying for a pistol license in Washington County.
We will provide you with the basic safety course that the Warren County Judge requires to get your New York State pistol license. Our neighboring Judge in Washington County also traditionally accepts our training course. We teach about state and local laws and permit holder's responsibilities, the various types of handguns and ammunition you may encounter, safe handling of handguns, cleaning of firearms, and home firearm safety. Our class includes personalized hands-on instruction from our cadre of 20+ of the most experienced firearm instructors in the region. You won't find a more qualified group of instructors!
SAFE-T, Inc., located in Warren County, New York, is a 501(C)(3) non-profit corporation created in 1975 solely for the purpose of providing firearm safety instruction to local applicants for a New York State pistol license. That's all we do. We don't sell you time on a shooting range, we don't sell you ammo, we don't rent you guns... we simply provide the class that you need to get your NYS pistol license from the Warren County (or Washington County) Judge. We are not in this to make money from you. As a non-profit organization, our fee simply covers our expenses. We charge $35 per person to take our class. Not-for-Profit... That's all!
Your $35 class fee allows you to attend our class and get a certificate of training completion. We will notify the Warren County Pistol Permit Bureau that you have completed the established training requirement for a pistol license. We will provide you with a copy of the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting book, a ~$35 value, as well as safety publications and materials from various sources. We will gladly work with attendees from Washington County and adjacent counties to provide any necessary documentation to facilitate/verify completion of their local training requirements. Our goal is to help you complete your license training requirement... plain and simple!
